Road accident on the Dschang-Santchou axis: the condolences of the Head of State
"Mr. Governor, I have learned with sadness, the high human toll of the serious traffic accident which occurred at the level of the cliff of Dschang, near the town of Santchou. I ask you to take diligently and in sync with the other competent authorities, all the appropriate measures to rescue and assist the families of the victims and wounded. You will reassure the populations of the government's determination to ensure perfect coordination of the management of this tragedy. Finally, I ask you to transmit my sincere condolences to the bereaved families, as well as my wishes of speedy recovery to the wounded. I add to them the moved compassion of my wife. Please accept, Mr. Governor, the assurances of my perfect consideration ". The heavy toll of the collision between a jumbo bus and a truck carrying adulterated fuel is 55 burned dead, 29 injured, and extensive material damage. It should be noted that the average number of road deaths in Cameroon is estimated at more than 3,200 people per year.
